This is an annual event which is held to emphasize the importance of sleep and to discuss and find solutions to matters related to sleep disorders. As our lives are becoming more hectic and with the increased stress levels, more people worldwide are falling prey to poor sleeping habits. Doshas in Ayurveda

In Ayurveda it is believed that throughout the day there are 3 doshas that we go through 3 doshas. These are Vata, Pitta and Kapha, this comprises of 4 hours each. Depending on the time of the day these influence our overall health condition and energy levels. We need to organize our activities based on the dominant energy levels in and around you.

Kapha Dosha

The morning period from 6 AM to 10 AM is dominated by Kapha Dosha. This is the time when you must engage in rigorous exercise as it would prove to be more beneficial for you. It could include vigorous breathing exercises, yoga, martial arts and so on.

Pitta Dosha

The Lunch time period between 10 AM to 2 PM is the period which is dominated by the Pitta dosha. This is time when you can have the biggest meal of the day as it would allow your body to digest the food you intake easily.

Vata Dosha

The time period from 2 PM to 6 PM is dominated by the Vata Dosha. This dosha boosts mental and creative activity. So this is the time which is more suitable for solving a Maths problem or to compose music.

Thereafter from 6 PM to 10 PM is the time again which is dominated by Kapha and you need to adjust your activities accordingly.

So as mentioned above you need to adjust your activities to suit the natural rhythms of life and to stay in harmony with life and have healthy sleep.
